EMU_International Design Week’19

INDETENT: CELLS AND “ORGANISMZATION”
Axioma: Lets accept that tents are one of the oldest living structures for humans. The appropriation of the tent’s inner space could be one of the purest architectural expressions. Finding the most suitable place for setting up could be the origin of urban design. Roman Empire used orthogonal traced camps for the Army (Castro) becoming the seeds of new settlements over the conquered geographies. We would like to redefine these temporal spatial appropriations, combining our experiences and imagination in a modest and joyful colonization process. Relationships between independent units (tents) can be developed towards a holistic organization (organism).

.

Day 1: Exploring the campus area with EMU professors and students to chose best places to be colonized. Dissemination of independent tents and analyze of their spatial impact. Research and requalification of wasted materials.
Day 2: Discussion of organization diagrams and relationships between the tents for create a community: Connection of dependent tents to create a temporal Urban Organism.
